Many of you will recall the inspired Parametric Call to Arms in the Architect's Journal a few weeks back... Super Pa(rame)trik is back! He has responded to the rage in the comments section of his previous article (click link; scroll down to comments section). Some selected gems:
"The capacity to design a suburban extension for a small budget is not the test-case to decide on the power and pertinence of a contemporary style." (Sorry small-offices! Stick to the loser style)
"In fact the larger and the more complex the design task the more evident and compelling is parametricism’s superiority in comparison with modernism/minimalism or classicism. Thats why we are winning these kinds of projects." - 'And we will laser-cut you if you stand in our way!'
"For this an avant-garde is required that elaborates new principles via the combination of experimentation and theoretical reflection. " - 'But if you think for yourself and reach different principles we shall be forced to expel you from our ranks!' (this is reminding me more and more of the Architect's sketch in Monty Python)
"To win over the mainstream is the ambition of every serious avant-garde movement." (Is it?)
"Most young architects I meet want to participate in this collective adventure that is bound to change the urban physiognomy of this planet in the 21st century just as modernism did in the last century." (We shall change the "urban physiognomy of the planet", yet there seemingly are three schools for you, according to the Architect's Journal: AA, SCIArc, and UCLA (Hooray for public education! Go Bruins!)

where is his post in response to the comments on archinect. Please clarify you are suggesting this is what he would say or is saying?
He doesn't specifically respond to archinect. his response is in the comments section of the Architect's Journal. Let me see how I can reword that so it's not confusing...
I like Per Corell much more! Per Corell can send this guy to Zaha Hadid's ass in two easy posts and show him how big his laser is.
I, like jdcarling, don't get it. Is the stuff in parenthesis your (not so) thoughtful commentary on Shumacher's responses to comments that are... somewhere?
he wrote the article on Architect's Journal and his new comments appear below. All is under one link:
http://www.architectsjournal.co.uk/the-critics/patrik-schumacher-on-parametricism-let-the-style-wars-begin/5217211.article
I made the linkage simpler. hope that helps. sorry I don't have the parametricist know-how! ;)
Also, am so happy someone revisited Per Corell. That's exactly the outlier that brings attention to the folly of trying to subsume everything under one stylistic umbrella. All hail the true original parametricist, Per!
I miss per. I miss him so much.
i agree, parametricist urban designers are much worst. like; here is your city, the rest is up to your design nazi dictator and his favorite schools of jerk ass architecture.
Great news you guys: the building bots are almost here!!!
Please allow an old man just a bit credit, -- I won't tell you why, never bragged about my weakness.
it seem some germans were among the first to shake out the concrete of their mind, and gain a bit guts in structural terms. "Dare" I guess are the right word allowing concepts such as what is charataristic for 3dh allow a chance ;

Now we allway's were happy about the germans, they were ever good keeping the Romans down where they belong, sort of a buffer zone that contry. But remember back when I was good bragging and I told NASA told me ; "20 years, that is what that sort of idea or concept need, to even be understood"
So how far has we come ? I don't mean how sharp are the class bully's weapon, --- is no one still not allowed to "think he is someone", even never even saying so ?
Guess an image can tell what I mean, and no this is not 3dh but would anyone dare without the promotion for 3dh ?;
It must be fair to ask, --- "Me" , -- well I paint. I even develobed my paintings into big multi layer stencils that replaced the canvas. Today the Stencils are for me "the works", and think about it, you could buy a set of Stencils 100X70 Cm. and they are so easy to use, that anyone can paint this with the "Street airbrush" I invented and give free, with each set of Stencils ;
Yes, this is the paintings I started painting, after my fall here, the fact that I put innovation into my painting is nothing new I think that is wery me, allow me to state this finaly, allow an old man the credits please, --- or should I realy say "please" ?
Sorry, I think this was in fact the right image to use ; do anyone reconise, Does anyone here ever suffer for their gifts or what you "must" do, just have to do, to the extents that everything else do not matter,, --- I just want to tell you that some people, have it like that their whole life, guess that make them "Different".
