No wonder SO-IL prevailed in the Young Architects Program. If it's pavilion for P.S.1 is even half as cool as this video suggests, it just might be the best one yet. Let's just hope the images of world domination are real, too.
this is perhaps one of the worst and cheapest proposals for that space ever. even last year's melted wookie was better than this half (maybe a quarter) baked semi-sanaa tribute. it was probably chosen because of the recession. but it can join the (low) ranks of all the previous ones who stunk up the space.
Awesome! OH my god that looks so fun. Seriously, you guys, just try and resist a bunch of balls. You can't. It reminds me of this great installation I saw once in Chelsea in the mid-90s: a large vestibule space leading to a gallery was filled waist-high with beige balloons; if you wanted to get to the gallery you had no choice but to walk through - it was amazing! People left their pretensions at the door and had a blast wading through the balloons, and it was incredibly successful at changing your perception of the space.
Wow. Looks so fun! Hopefully the netting will be substantial enough to provide a decent amount of shade, like a jungle camouflage net. Cool.
