Some nice ideas here, but didn't NYC have a rash of office buildings reno'd into condo buildings already back in the mid-90s? A different approach than the "let the artists colonize it" attitude of the article, yes. But the truth is: big open space is always going to be desirable. If we can keep good buildings standing by doing funky things to make them serve an immediate need, all the better.
