not in the least, because the art once called modern is now mostly dated, and the artists mostly forgotten except for a few (this for the market's sake, most likely). contemporary art is the emperor's worst new clothes yet, and should be relegated to the joke that is the new museum downtown and its supporters. meanwhile, frank lloyd wright's guggenheim continues to shine in a supposedly vibrant city which is filled with eyesores and pastiches.
