Sexism is alive and well in architecture, according to research showing that two-thirds of female architects believe the construction industry hasn’t fully accepted the authority of women.
The annual Women in Architecture survey, conducted by Architects’ Journal, found evidence of widespread discrimination and unequal pay in the profession.

This article seems to make some sweeping generalizations. I have not been in the industry too long, but almost all of the projects that I have worked on have had women as the project architect and they have all commanded a great deal of respect from everyone. I am currently in New York, but maybe the situation is different in other cities? What are other peoples thoughts and experiences?
Zaha's name always comes up, but there are other great female architects as well - Liz Diller, Maya Lin? I know these are just a few but to me the situation does not seem as dire as this article paints it to be.
Just look at the anonymous salary poll on archinect. Go to your city, then look at the sex of the individual, then look at what they rated their satisfaction level... what do you see?
Going through New York, the Female's satisfaction level is very comparable to the Men's.
Discrimination against women only happens in architecture.
Hadid's office employs more women than men.
The check is in the mail.
Great image - Hadid as the poster girl for discrimination against women.
an alternate title could be..."women are taking an equal role in destroying the planet at the will of the oligarchy." depends how you look at it. Go ZAHA!
