Just when I was thinking of revisiting of the great photographer and going over nearly 8 hours of recorded conversations between me and him, I got the news of his passing from our mutual friend and one his best buddies Martin Roy Mervel. He had the talent, wit and the stories. More to follow in coming days.

He had the talent, wit and the stories. And, sort of revolutionized the architectural photography. More to follow in coming days.

Orhan -- In preparation for an audience I was hoping to get with JS regarding my upcoming book on Trousdale Estates in Beverly Hills (which we had discussed by phone from time to time; he had actually been trying to talk me OUT of it), I printed out your entire oral history to read on the plane to/from Hawaii two weeks ago. I kept setting it aside...but now I'll read it through completely with a very, VERY special -- yet necessarily bittersweet -- appreciation.
Thank you, Orhan...and THANK YOU, JS.
