Kind of ironic to put the MoT on the graveyard of a feuding partner.
The State of Israel is entirely immersed in irony.
it is mainly hollywood and beverly hills money. the state of israel is heavily influenced by the diaspora. all my israeli friends find this project offensive.
the museum of tolerance is a wonderful idea but this particular one provoke more anger than tolerance.
it is clear that the plans for developing the old jerusalem as a hi-end tourist attraction and hotel zone is underway already. this should not be done with the demise and the take over of another community's spiritual property, land and values.
what could be more 'supposingly' causeful physical replacement for the last remaining muslim foothold than the seemingly humanistic museum that fights intolerance, right?
make no mistake, this is one of the final nails of finalizing the complete take over of jerusalem and the evidence for further gains by the developers.
a tolerating act by the museum in los angeles would be 'restoring' the muslim cemetery and mamilla pool as a public place of reconciliation and mutual respect and get rid of the partial parking area which was granted under dubious circumstances of occupation.
even a simple plaquette stating the role of the museum restoring the site would go light years ahead of current pile of forceful ambitions and bring the communities closer for a change.
how could rabbi marvin hier so wrong?
as for frank gehry, ....
