Check out this story about a team of 5th and 6th grade students at Tucscon's Imago Dei Middle School who have made their way to the finals in a national architecture competition to design "the school of the future". Imago Dei Middle School is a new private/tuition-free school that applies an experimental model to empower lower income children. Great story
The students spent seven months designing a community resource center, integrating solar panels, shade sails and greenhouses for urban architecture. Local architecture firm ABA Architects mentored the students through the project.
