is it necessary to pose in the nude as well? this sort of add-on pornography, this random degeneracy, is unnecessary. not only that, but it spoils the allure of the underground spaces as uncharted territories.
daring, brilliant and inspirational. an intriguing juxtaposition of injecting human life (via nudity) into places that are void of (what we would consider) urban life. "add-on pornography", "random degeneracy"? we must have watched two different videos, completely inappropriate description of her work.
simply brilliant.
Raymonde,
Her work is not even close to pornography. Did you even listen to the lecture she gave? She actually describes quite clearly and articulately why she added a nude human figure (her own) to these spaces. I have to agree with m_Daus...it's beautiful and inspiring work.
For sizzle....
no sense in listening to her explaining why she does it. why would i? it's like going to a rem koolhaas lecture- why bother? the buildings are crap, are cheap, why listen to the reason for it? the pictures are ruined by her transgression of the space. this kind of exhibitionist work is not appealing to me. that says enough. that people feel compelled to showcase their bodies for whatever reason has nothing to do with 'art' but with a kind of veiled and unnecessary pornography. while on the topic, i also give a thumbs down to araki, kern, richardson (father and son), and anyone who uses nudity in the disguise as "photography" and/or "art".
your reply can only imply a personal dislike towards nudity in photography as an an artistic expression, thus your critique is void of any real meaning.
"it is a mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it" - Aristotle
in your case, without entertaining her work ("no sense in listening to her explaining...") your thoughts on this matter can be best explained as "unnecessary".
