NPR profiles Tyson's Corner, VA, which county planners and urbanists intend to transform over the next 30 years into a denser, walkable community. Included is Robert Siegel's hazardous and yet familiar stroll through an area that was built not for strolls, but for cars.

Sounds promising.
Hoping with the approval just in the last few days of the money to extend the Metro line out to the airport this will actually happen now.
Especially, when combined with the Green stimulus program. In my mind this kind of infill, upgrading of old development/infrastructure is probably the "easiest" way to boost jobs, sustainability and quality of life not just in Virginia but across the country.
Also, some of the comments on the NPR website are loony...While corruption might very well be an issue. The sentiment of oh no density should be avoided is totally backward/outdated.
