Louise Armitstead has penned a piece for the Telegraph describing Dubai's optimism (denial?) regarding the current state of the global economy, as they push ahead with continued development. What I found most interesting, however, was the introduction describing Babu Sassi, an Indian man responsible for operating the world's highest crane at the top of the Burj Dubai. Apparently, due to the time it takes to get down from the crane, Sassi is forced to remain there day and night. It is claimed that he has been up there for a year!

The BLDGBLG entry on this is awesome.
Not only would it take him too long to come down from his crane, but that photo makes it look like he'd have nowhere to go.
