that finally works. The Dyson Airblade is appropriate for any public restroom facility. Its impressive design speaks to the function of drying one's hands only, and not drying one's clothing or any irrelevant artifact so this machine boasts energy and cost savings as well.

rant> Hand dryers exist because facilities are too cheap and lazy to pay for paper towels and trash removal. How about some acknowledgement that people sometimes like to splash water on their face or blow their nose? </rant
I think it has a little something to do with saving the environment or something.
They have these in the refurbished toilets in Euston station. They are great. And as ^^ says, it's rare to get paper towels these days because of environmental reasons, but you can always go to a cubicle and take some toilet roll (unless dyson manages to invent an airblade for that purpose too!)
I love the Dyson Airblade! They have them in the bathrooms at the LAX international terminal.
Hey, saving the planet, that's cool and all, but sometimes I need to splash some water on my face and dry it off. Like especially after a long plane flight. Anybody?
I do know the Airblades, and they're pretty nice, somebody should invent an Airface version.
I grew up down the street from the world dryer corporation, maker of the standard hand dryer. Ive always been supportive of it. But Dyson has now set up shop near my new house. Im torn. Im having an internal hand sanitizing civil war. I like the Dyson blade but theyve been in bathrooms here for 2 or 3 years now and they require multiple passes - not like the commercial shows. But the concet is awesome - the sound like an airliner taking off not so much.
Does anyone still make the endless underwear loop?
What about those paper(?) towels they have in Europe, that you crank down, but don't tear off.. you can wipe your hands and face, then it recoils back into the dispenser and cleans itself? Probably uses more energy than the hand dryer, but you can splash water on your face. Then again, you could just wipe it off with your sleeve. Saving the environment is hard, I know; we need to make big sacrifices like using our shirt to wipe our faces. It's a brave new world!
These things have been around for a while.
Hate them.
How can you hate them? They're easy and fast, ONE pass if you put your hands all the way in and then pull them slowly out. ("slow" being 5 seconds.) I first saw them in a times square theater, so nice to have dry hands AND not have piles of paper towels flowing out of the trash cans!
The Dyson Airblade hand dryer is truly a stunning piece of machinery. Not only is it beautiful and unique in design, but it's the only hand dryer certified HYGIENIC by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF).
I work for a company that sells the Dyson Airblade, and I'm seeing more and more architects specifying them on projects. Pretty cool!
