For years antique dealers have been raiding government junkyards in Chandigarh for furniture and other items specially created by Corbusier’s colleagues to equip the then new city.
However these pieces which the government viewed as junk were then being sold at auction for thousands of dollars. The government has now realized it's mistake and has begun to refurbish this furniture, and placed a moratorium on future sales.
