Last week, we had published the finalists of the international architecture competition to design the Central Mosque of Prishtina in Kosovo. One of the very few local firms among the international ones that participated in this competition was Prishtina-based architecture practice Maden Group whose entry is featured here. — bustler.net

Simple and elegant, but maybe a little too simple. But then again, I'm not aware of the programmatic concerns of the building type. I wish there was more articulation on the surface, rather than relying on the patterns of openings/fenestration to provide the interest value. The curve is its stateliest feature and, in this building, the curve is vertical, on an elevation, while on the smaller (assembly) building next to the UN, which it loosely reminds me of, that curve is horizontal, spanning the roof line. It seems like many modern buildings are coming back around to a restrained mix of modern and organic. Sometimes it's interesting, and sometimes it's not.
hmmm
