On Friday November 30th a deal was brokered by politicians to make cars travel on average no fewer than 35 mpg by 2020. The new corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standards have been a long time coming. However, the ability to make some bigger cars is important for American firms. its about time the US joined the frow - but they will still be 10 mpg the rest of the world by the next 10 years. Sigh...two steps back
