Tod Williams said that perhaps Norman Foster's proposal would have been a better decision. The conditions of the moment didn't allow American admit that the urban fabric of Manhattan is made out of money. With hindsight I also think that Foster (as a corporation) could have dealt with both the symbolic and developers needs, but anyhow this is irrelevant now.
Last night I watched on TV a documentary about the unveiling of the masterplan. "The fight for Ground Zero: An Equinox Special". It was very much on the side of Libeskind, criticising the "bullying" of SOM and the developers. At one moment Nina Libeskind is furious about the height of SOM's tower and the proposed size for the antenna. She placed her little finger by the side of her head pointing upwards. It was very funny. Now when I see images of the tower I cannot stop thinking of Pocahontas.
