The Spanish region of Valencia has been called the "California of Spain" for its gorgeous Mediterranean coastline and modern architecture.
But now Valencia epitomizes the worst of Spain's problems. It had the country's most inflated property market and the biggest crash. Its landscape is littered with empty and half-finished buildings.

anywho, sucks property is so high. id buy there in a hot second.
Once was enough. That building shown up above looks like a big insect, and the one behind it is too busy. I didn't bother to take pictures of them. My hotel was a few blocks from this cultural/museum area. I don't know why Valencia is considered to be so great. It is schizophrenically laid out. There is an "understood" business center. There is an old historical center. There is this new resurgence area, where the above museums are located. And there is the port brought to notoriety by the World Cup, IIR. They are all fairly far apart from each other, and without cohesive nodes and spokes. I realize it is an old, historical city, but much of the newer buildings were built within the last century. Then, on top of that, its beaches aren't that inspiring.
