Come on guys. The furniture at DWR is somewhat questionable since part of their stock is based on licenced reproductions that don´t even stick to original material specifications. Perhaps a visit to Moss, Matter or any Established and Sons furniture store might put the numbers into perspective. A 1,200.00 dollars piece of furniture is not expensive these days; add 2 digits to that number and now we are talking.
Nevertheless, design, art and products are due for a market correction pretty soon.
Hola desde Barcelona!! = )
ahhh...i miss barcelona...i love the way light interacts w/ barri gotic in the morning...
FDB...although DWR is out-of-my-reach, i did go to many non-designer furniture shops last year in search of a clean/modern white leather sofa, and i remember telling the wife, that if the stock of the typical furniture store reflects today's taste in residential architecture, i could see why mcmansions are so popular...large, kitschy, expensive, and poorly made...
maybe it's not DWR's fault that designers/architects can't reach it!
yeah, i've noticed that, while i can't really afford much in design within reach i also can't afford much in any other new furniture place - except maybe value city.
we stick to the antique malls and vintage shops for the most part, but did find some good deals at eurway.com
yikes...if you think design within reach is expensive then you really do have a long ways to go yet.
as pointed out above, it's bascially just designer reproductions and compared to what you would pay for an original of any of those pieces, the dwr is pocket change

Maybe they need to bring their prices just a little bit more "within reach".
don't they have couches that cost that much? sell one more 575k couch and you break even. i shoulda went to bizness scool.
maybe it should be "DJOR"
Design Just Outside of Reach?
or "DWR .9%" - within reach for .9% of the u.s. population.
it's difficult to justify spending that much money when it would be better invested elsewhere.
