Benjamin Ball's and Gaston Nogues's (Ball-Nogues) site-specific installation Rip Curl Canyon, commissioned by Rice Gallery in 2006, was honored with a Citation at the 2007 American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles (AIALA), Design Awards Gala on June 21. Rice Gallery is the only university gallery in the United States dedicated solely to site-specific installation. By funding the creative process from start to finish, Rice Gallery gives artists, architects, and designers the opportunity to realize ambitious, large-scale works.

Ball-Nogues were the winners of the eighth annual MoMA/P.S.1 Young Architects Program in March 2007, where their outdoor installation, Liquid Sky is currently on view.
