None of this means very much while people still live in the utterly unsustainable communities that make up the bulk of the current suburban paradigm, which requires inordinate amounts of energy to be expended just going to and from stores such as Home Depot, not to much purchasing products from so far away that more energy is spent transporting them to the store than was spent in their production. These are good steps, as any in the direction are, but they also serve to only make people feel like their lifestyle is more environmentally conscious than it really is.
