A group of 8 professors at the University of Jerusalem have mounted a cogent criticism of Moshe Safdie's plan for Jerusalem, claiming, while it is architectural and physical in nature, it has no overall vision of Jerusalem's future. The plan does not address the main fundamental problems, will cause further fragmentation of the city, further remove population centers from the historic center, weaken the municipal business base, increase infrastructure costs, and aggravate traffic congestion.
