Four years of construction is expected to begin next week on the long delayed 56 Leonard Street, the 830-foot-high residential tower announced four years ago for the southwest corner of Church and Leonard streets. For more than three years, the building's completed foundation has sat barren while the recession-stymied developer, the Alexico Group, sought financing to complete the project. — tribecatrib.com

Yay, now H&DM's worst project can finally be realized.
I may be mistaken, but I think this view perfectly blocks out Gehry's residential tower.
I liked the part where it steps on the little bean!
This would be a pretty nice building if it were maybe, like, 20 stories tall. But at full skyscraper height it starts to resemble that jenga game where you half-expect it to fall over and that's not a comforting feeling whether you're in one of the penthouses or you're just one of those little people pushing all your belongings along in a shopping cart on the sidewalk.
Yo!
