literally. Now google maps comes with Street View. Zooming back into street level now you can move around major US cities within a 3d cylindrical panoramic environment. WOW. via Archidose
awesome that John posted this. yesterday, while using google maps to figure out how to get to the Storefront for Postopolis, i noticed this street view feature and was similarly amazed...but i didn't realize that it was a new thing. WOW indeed.
talk about privacy issues. You can zoom close enough to see the apple symbols on the back of our laptops within our offices. (also inside our living room at home)
privacy, the virtual city, developers dream... while all true, i don't care. google is the poor traveller's next best thing. great for teaching also... and this new thing makes it 100 times better- i can show my students how those streets look... this is fantastic.
of course in the end, it just makes me wish i had the money to be there.
