guess you need to burn everything or get that dissolving paper that 007 used.
Only if you're doing something you really need to hide.... for basic identity theft purposes, a shredder will still work just fine. After all, why bother piecing together stuff from a shredder when there are still plenty of people who don't bother to shred?
you can always eat all your documents. i don't really know the nutritional value of paper, but i doubt anyone will want to piece that your crap together after that.
