The Airbus that landed at LAX carried water tanks designed to shift the plane's center of gravity in flight. The mayor Villaraigosa, gesturing to dozens of blue metal tanks, said: "You know what's in those big vats? Downstairs it's Bordeaux, and upstairs it's Burgundy." latimes

villaraigosa is a media whore
agreed. more the media whore, bigger the political future.
i saw this behemoth on the news last night. it looked wobbly on the landing.
yeah. it almost skidded off the runway. watch the video on above article and watch what happens around 1:30-1:35.
they say it is a common thing on landing but it looked ominous.
i think larger transports are not great when smaller and more versatile planes are available at a lower fuel consumption and with no modification on existing airports. i personally like snmaller airbus planes and new dreamliner boeing is building. also, things don't improve much for the economy passengers anyway. but nevertheless, airbus jumbo looks amazing. i wished i'd gone to lax yesterday to watch it land.
what about retro turbo props...those are our future greener for all us. Boo to the big bad [air]bus
