inspired a query to the AIA-COTE listserve..
Grander System is marketing a water 'treatment' system that sounds Kurt Vonagut's story about ice-9. Their treatment process takes place in a
sealed chambers of water that has already been placed into a coherent, highly ordered molecular condition at the manufacturing facility in Austria... Once treated at the manufacturing facility in Austria, the highly ordered water sealed within the units sustains its structure through resonant interactions with the surrounding environment.
Yeah, sure. Show me the chemistry! And if this 'treatment' 'control[s] microbiology', how can that be good for us to drink? I'd rather drink a gallon of bleach.
Any chemists out there able to verify their claims?????
Unlike the acrid stench of quack science behind the Grander treatment process, a real scientifically testable and proven water treatment system has been developed by Equaris Inc. An early prototype of their greywater treatment system is installed in the NRDC's Robert Redford Building in Santa Monica, CA and helped contribute to earning the first LEED-Platinum rating ever. Equaris is a great company that is working towards applying their water recycling systems to developing countries and disaster relief applications (Cameron, you should call Clint Elston, I have his number!)
