"Carmen Rogers found her new home almost by accident standing in the checkout line: the home that architect Barton Myers built for himself and his wife in 1998..." LATimes
This house is wonderful, I love the industrial look contrasted with the crazy jungle-like landscape. And I'm a huge fan of courtyard houses, especially near a busy street in a warm climate they make so much sense.
hahaha!! the stove should have been a buddha. but i do love the house. i remember seeing this and one other like it in arch record some time back. very impressive, really explodes the line between inner/outer space relationship.
I mean I don't *hate* the gorilla stove, it's just unexpected. Actually it's kind of a nice quirky personal touch, so OK, I may not ever spec one for my own client, but I like the one in this house.
