i agree. i went to the opening perhaps thinking of a short review but after seeing the works (i actually thought there were only 3 projects), i didn't feel like thinking any further about them. i think it was a second rate show which is too bad because sometimes a show in a minor museum like santa monica, can brake all the conventions and bring out previously uncharted response to the work. name was much bigger than the content.
Hmm, too bad. I do think Siza is underrated, and it would be good to see a comprehensive presentation of his work. As the reviewer says, the quietness and simplicity of his work doesn't reveal well in static images, but there is stall a lot to be gained from large scale high-quality photographs.
