DES MOINES, Iowa Wal-Mart has agreed to design its new supercenter in Pella with a Dutch flair.
The architecture of the 99-thousand-square-foot building will reflect the city's Dutch heritage that dates back to 1847. That's when about 800 immigrants settled in the rolling fertile fields 40 miles southeast of Des Moines.

it sounds terrible. could you imagine if they actually made some CONTEMPORARY dutch architecture, instead of some neomannerist tacky stuff. that would be perfect. (allthough im not a big fan of the aesthetic, but it would be fitting, right? - like a small new-holland still continuing to be inspired from holland after all these years)
