Chicago's Soldier Field is stripped of its National Historic Landmark status. Blair Kamin explains how Chicago's loss can be other historic buildings' gain. However, not everyone agrees with his assesment.
it's a shame that such a good project is getting so much bad publicity.
agree with becker's argument that the building is largely new and therefore maybe hasn't earned landmark status (again) yet. but the 'stripped of its...status' spin won't give anyone good feelings about it.
does kamin hate architects? his piece is all provocation.
