The main concept behind High Dynamic Range imaging is that you are taking several normal photos and combining them. By combining photos of the same scene at different exposure levels, you create a a surreal image with hyper-real colours and detail. is supposed to overcome the limited dynamic range present in both film and digital sensors. (HDR images only turn out surreal if you don't balance the image in Photoshop.)
If anyone is interested, this is the HDR forum on Flickr.
This guy has some amazing HDR wideangles of Manhattan.
And finally, this set features some great shots from around Europe, including La Chartreuse in Liege, Belgium.
Enjoy,
very nice ... I'd love to expriment with this technique
so - no depth of field? doesn't seem right, does it?
(just saying....not really a luddite.)
I think you could produce an HDR with a narrow depth of field. You would just have to set your camera to aperture priority mode and change the shutter speed for each exposre.
