Prince-Ramus, OMA NY partner, lays out the distinctions between the NY satellite and the Dutch mothership, and the dawning of the hyper-rationalist age. Could Porto and Louisville be more different? | bizweek
Well, that answer/reaction also sucks.
So OMA has fallen from grace in your mind. OK. What more can you say about it and what have you done to prove it inferior?
yanto should obviously read the article. OMA seems to be itself, either in Rotterdam or NYC. Just saying it sucks or that the firm is a corporate lapdog is pretty far from the truth. as a general rule: take your head out of your ass before posting.
Well.. its a load of crap.. nothing against OMA.. but thats all BS the guy spouted... hyper rational? what bollocks..seattle library is not hyper rational.. he knows that.. and if all their work is so unique and original how come this lexington project looks 90% like an OMA project from 15 yrs ago...
hotsies,
He was being interviewed by the Bizweek, not at a AA or GSD symposium, yes? You confused biz talk/marketing and academic discourse.
Just be honest about this case against OMA too. It's a protected right and it's certainly worth discussing.
so what? you think they don't admit to that project looking like another one. it's so obvious. they explain casa da musica as a blatant rip off of another one of their proposals. i find it romantic.
well.. they claim they dont do rem. they do "hyper-rational" work. that is based purely on the program at hand.. ... so how do these different projects with different sites, programs etc.. look the same?
the answer? because what hes saying is bullshit and hes too muhc of a coward to admit to having preferences, tendancies and interests that he wants to contunte to explore.. but instead he hides behind this lame authorship denail...
hotsies...you obviously are talking without having read their stuff. i'm not saying this to defend oma...i'm just saying this because you talk like when people say something like "throughout all of human history..." really?
Again, intellectual talk on THAT forum would be simply ridiculous.
You are free to throw fits, but you look worse to many intelligent readers when you began to personal attack on someone's body. That's just trashy.

Well, again, bad attitude and simplistic assessment.

really good article. My only critique: I wish that OMA would expand their "rational" approach to touch socio-political and environmental issues.
plus the louisville isnt just ugly, it just isnt interesting, Even that one rendering is always void of context.

i actually find OMAs work brillitant. i just have no patience for the chest thumping he was doing in that interview. and also thought it was BS.
i think you do to.
this doesnt need to be a pro-anti OMA conversation... we cna all be PRO and still think they lie sometimes.
You are still evading the fact that it was a Business Week Online interview.
Lighten up.
