National Architecture Week, April 10-16, is a time to showcase the positive role architects play in our communities and highlight the power of design. — AIA
Oddly enough, the AIA's National Architecture Week-- a celebration of our physical built work-- will take place virtually.
To participate in the event: you can become a fan on Facebook, join in on a discussion on their Facebook page, follow the AIA on Foursquare, use the hashtag '#archweek11' when you check into Foursquare and share it on Twitter to be eligible to receive prizes, and, lastly, find an event hosted by a local AIA chapter.
According to this tidbit on Dexinger, a YouTube video from Clark Manus FAIA was promised to kickoff National Architecture Week. Unfortunately, the official video is not publically listed on their YouTube channel. An unlisted video, however, can be found here.
Don't forget to also check out this video with David Rova, Director of Design, at HMC Architects. He asks, “In your daily life as an architect or designer, did something inspire you? Was it the built environment?”
