At the recent kick-off party for Civilising Spaces, hosted by New London Architecture, Lord-Architect Richard Rogers declared support for the old, yet impressively persistent, plans of Ken Livingstone, London's mayor, to build more public green spaces throughout greater London (PDF). Yeah, I'm there with you. From the article: "Rogers’ theory met with a cautious reception from black architects. Elsie Owusu, of the Society of Black Architects, said: 'People of all races should be encouraged in the making of public spaces.'"
