an architecture collective called Chicago Associates Planners and Architects "charter" an airstream trailer on their roof, just for those "eureka" moments. read | disc
CAPAs by far best project is TRYON Farm which they developed [noonan] and designed. it is by far the most sustainable community in the midwest. dont look for a CAPA website, they still have a sneaker network in the office.
crazy ed noonan at tryon
Forman is on faculty at UIC and spends most of his time working as an advocate for public housing in chicago. interesting firm that works from the heart. in 1982 were instumental in stopping the worlds fair in comming to chicago, pissed the mayor off so much they were somewhat blacklisted from getting public work in chicago. thats the city.
yeah i saw that - funny term - when the firm gets slow noonan rents part of his office to another firm that is disconnected so maybe thats the reference -definitely more sexy term v. renting out spare desk space. - i have know them and worked for them in the 70's while in school and collaborated with them on some public housing projects in the 90's - they are really good people with great spirit -

other early ground breaking things is the deerpath movie theater that they did in the late 70's which had private lounging rooms.
many underpayed staff at capa lived various times in the streemline and i concure it is a good party space!@
