A nearly 100-year-old Frank Lloyd Wright-designed church (Unity Temple) near Chicago will reportedly become the first Wright landmark to utilize geothermal energy. Physorg.com
geotherma? not in our lifetime with this building.
if one knows the tight site, there isnt enough gound to do 26 wells[at about 20' diameters on center].....Unity has been struggling for many many years with what to do with the building as it is a heat sink. i suspect, this again is just another fund raising effort for the continuous reno's. the state give some money to not-for-profits but geothermal does not qualify as its considered savings v. cutting edge energy direction.
the building is falling apart.
