Well, sadly, the Pentagon seems poised to restart antipersonnel landmine production again, defying international consensus against these weapons. There are also plans for the military to increase domestic surveillance, expanding their involvement in missions here on American soil. Separation seems to have spread everywhere
I realize these (below) are old links, and that they have surely made the rounds of Archinect at some point – but they're still relevant. That said, here are two pieces by Mike Davis. The first, "The Pentagon as Global Slumlord"; the second, "Planet of Slums," being developed into a book for Verso, ca. Summer 2006. And they both fit the topic under discussion...
