: In the name of security, Santiago Calatrava's bird has grown a beak. Its ribs have doubled in number and its wings have lost their interstices of glass.The revised design of Mr. Calatrava's birdlike World Trade Center transportation hub and PATH terminal, which is expected to be approved today by the Port Authority board, appears at first to be nearly identical to the concept unveiled in 2004. But subtle changes have occurred to buttress the building against bombings and to control costs.
