Well, with a recent report listing the hideous living and operation conditions of San Quentin State Prison in Cali, and citing state law which says an additional complex would not be allowed to be built offsite from the current institution's location, law makers seem bent on constructing a new death row facility next door. For the good of California, I hope they build it large enough to hold Scott Peterson AND the 11 o'clock newcasters that sent him there.

"It just doesn't make sense for a state that is as broke as California to put literally hundreds of millions of dollars into a prison that is literally falling down," Nation said. "I think it's a bad investment for the state."
"We really should look at or expand our efforts to close down San Quentin," Nation said. "We are scheduled in fact to meet with some of the governor's senior staff, his cabinet-level folks, to make our case."
There may be hope still yet.
Eroding the Death Penalty
