Pininfarina has designed a 45-story oceanside tower in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Developed by Related Group with CFE Architects as the architect of record, the Andare Residences condominium tower contains 163 residential units.
The 540-foot-tall tower was inspired by the area’s maritime context, with a flowing, wave-like facade characterized by undulating wraparound balconies. At the base of the tower, meanwhile, a 36-foot arch marks the entrance to the scheme of the pedestrian thoroughfare.
At ground level, the tower’s double-height lobby contains floor-to-ceiling windows and displays both artistic and biophilic elements. Above, the residences range from 1,800 to 4,300 square feet, designed with open-concept living areas, floor-to-ceiling glazing, and wraparound balconies.
"The unparalleled location of this property, in the American Riviera, inspired our vision,” said Pininfarina chief architect Samuele Sordi about the scheme. "We strived to provide future residents with a living environment that not only pushed the boundaries of design but also celebrated Las Olas’ rich tapestry of cultural and environmental surroundings. The end result is a tower that serves both as a love letter to Las Olas’ rich history as well as a monument to its promising future.”
News of the tower comes months after construction began on Pininafrina's first Mexican residential scheme. The famous design company was also previously featured in our ongoing Job Highlights series.

Did they need Pininfarina to come up with something the local Miami AOR could have - and already have - come up with.the same Aqua vibe.
they need the brand to justify the inflated prices.
Bingo. Same for Bentley and Porsche-branded apartments. When you're in the business of making marketing images, why even bother with a starchitect?
And Aqua really isn't that good. Sad that there's Aqua knock-offs spreading around the globe.
It always seemed ironic that Aqua was conceived as a quintessential tropic skyscraper ... in Chicago. And is now being copied all over Miami.
funny thing, this is the owner of pininfarina https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anand_Mahindra
Aqua is hardly original. Well executed, yes. But not original.
Someone mentioned the Porche residential building where you take your car with you to your floor on an elevator. What happens when one of the new EVs decides to cook off?
