Get Lectured offers a look at the various events taking place at North American architecture schools each semester. Today, our tour continues with a look at public programming at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Hillier College of Architecture and Design (HCAD) this Fall.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the architect program at NJIT and the 15th anniversary of HCAD. The College will be hosting a Gala reception on October 26 that includes a silent auction of different faculty members’ artwork. Tickets for the event, which start at $50, can be found here.
Events began with the Alumni Award Winners Roundtable on September 28 and will be followed by another titled 'Whither Brick City?' and focused on development in the city of Newark on October 12. The Anniversary Colloquium 'Architecture and Design in C21: Transforming Pedagogy and Practice' will be held at 5:30p on October 26, preceding the Gala. It will be followed by the Designer/Writer Roundtable discussion 'Parallel Practices or Double Metier' on November 2. Finally, the semester concludes with the TRANSECT Roundtable 'What does it take?' hosted by the school's American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) chapter on November 16.
