For the eleventh year in a row, Gensler has topped Architectural Record’s Top 300 U.S. Architecture Firms list. Together with Perkins&Will and HDR, the trio continue a three-year streak atop the rankings.
Gensler reported $1.37 billion in architectural revenue, which is more than double that of any other firm and an increase from the $1.32 billion reported in 2021. Perkins&Will brought in $572.5 million, which was followed by $454.7 million in earnings by HDR. AECOM saw one of the largest increases in revenue, from $337 million in 2021 to $434 million this year. The Los Angeles-based company jumped from eighth to fourth place in the rankings. Completing the top ten includes Jacobs, HKS, HOK, CannonDesign, Stantec, and Perkins Eastman. Among the top ten firms, half reported year-over-year increases in revenue.
Firms that saw notable declines in revenue include Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, which dipped from 13th to 18th place and LEO A DALY, which fell from 17th to 34th place. The Omaha-based practice reported a decline in revenue from $195 million to $89 million.
