New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) called for an end to the use of natural gas in new buildings in a policy blueprint released Wednesday ahead of her State of the State address. — The Hill
The governor's plan will require that there be zero on-site greenhouse gas emissions from new construction by 2027. It would also require energy benchmarking, a process that requires large buildings of similar sizes or occupancy levels to compare their energy consumption. Hochul’s blueprint would mark the first statewide requirement if passed. This follows a similar New York City bill signed into law in December that bans the use of fossil fuels in new buildings.
In addition to this new policy blueprint, Governor Hochul also announced in her State of the State address a plan to establish a rail line that connects Brooklyn and Queens dubbed the Inter-Borough Express.

i guess breathing is not allowed then
By all means, stop.
No use of natural gas in the city but use electricity generated from coal and natural gas. And the electrical grid is more likely to go down because of snow storms, thunderstorms, tornados, flooding. Natural gas not so much if at all. Really smart governor. Really. Smart.
Where would YOU start?
What if I told you it's possible to do two things?
I like the ambition, hope it will spark smart and innovative solutions...
