The Don't Move, Improve Awards is an annual program organized by New London Architecture highlighting the city's best new home extensions and celebrate innovative home improvement projects. In its eleventh year, each selected winner demonstrates "how a well-designed home can improve quality of life, offer functional solutions on the smallest of sites, and create beautiful spaces even within the most restricted of budgets."
Below are this year's shortlist winners and a selection of project images.
A CLOISTERED HOUSE by TURNER ARCHITECTS
AMOTT ROAD by ALEXANDER OWEN ARCHITECTURE
CLAIRE AND TOM'S HOME by ZMINKOWSKA DE BOISE ARCHITECTS
TWO AND A HALF STOREY HOUSE by BRADLEY VAN DER STRAETEN ARCHITECTS
UMFREVILLE ROAD by THE DHAUS COMPANY
"With an annual exhibition, magazine, and regular advice sessions with architects, engineers, and designers, the program aims to celebrate London’s best domestic-scale designs and encourage homeowners to embark on their own home improvement project" shares the organizers.

I wish there was more of this in the U.S. The 'masses' and 'flippers' convert decent old houses into boxes wrapped in vinyl siding or simply tear them down with excavators in wild abandon. <sigh> it's all about the money of course.
