One year after breaking ground in Costa Mesa, the Orange County Museum of Art's new home is scheduled to top out at an official ceremony at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
OCMA, which is currently housed out of a temporary space at South Coast Plaza in Santa Ana, is slated to move into its new in 2021.

The virtual topping out ceremony can be followed live via the museum's Instagram on Tuesday, October 6 at 11 AM Pacific Time.

i'd love to see some data on the ratio of museum construction area to housing / office / any other use over time. it seems excessive over the past couple decades...

Like many museums, they already have a bluechip Serra. Kind of centerpiece. This one reminds me the one he had at Church and White St. across from a Greek diner or thereabouts in 70's. Thinner steel. He was said to go there with a bucket and clean it up every once in a while.
