The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) has appointed Branko Kolarevic as their new dean of the College of Architecture and Design, effective July 1st, 2019.
Dr. Kolareivc, who is regarded as an expert on the use of digital technologies in design and production, received a Diploma Engineer of Architecture degree from the University of Belgrade and a Master of Design Studies and Doctor of Design from Harvard University.
He is one of the founding directors of the Laboratory for Integrative Design at the University of Calgary, where he held a Chair in Integrated Design from 2007 to 2016 as well as other positions such as associate dean and co-director of the Computational Design Media Program.
Kolareivic also brings additional academic experience having taught at the University of Pennsylvania (where he founded the Digital Design Research Lab in 2001), as well as the University of Hong Kong, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Northeastern, Harvard University and more.
On the appointment, NJIT Provost and Executive Vice President Fadi P. Deek said, "Dr. Kolarevic is a leader in his field with a superb record of accomplishments in education, research and administration. Working with our faculty, and building on the strong reputation we already have, Dr. Kolarevic’s insight, stature and vision are certain to bring distinction to the College of Architecture and Design at NJIT."

A tech school, does what a tech school does, and goes with the safe choice. A techie, but not an architechie, a trendie, but not a brand; a safe choice. NJIT, being on bland, does what the dopes in the blandship want. I bet he didn't even get paid parking out of the gig.
