Snohetta and Mr. Melgaard aim to use burned wood for the house’s exterior, and tentative plans for its interior include movable walls and a room that combines an eating area and a swimming pool. Martin Brunner, one of the Snohetta architects who worked on the project, also explained that the firm had tested a prototype for an item of inflatable furniture to be included in the house, which he described as a “sex pillow.” — New York Times
In 2011, the Norwegian artist, Bjarne Melgaard, reached out to property developers Olav and Frederik Selvaag with the idea of making a sculpture that would double as a house and atelier. The three got the international architecture studio Snøhetta involved, resulting in the design of a black crystalline U.F.O. propped up by several sculptures of woodland animals.

-As the house is located next to Edvard Munch's old studio, randomised appropriately shared his surprise with the artist's most famous work:
-archanonymous asked "What the hell is up with Snohetta lately? AT&T, this, mad underwater restaurant???"—to which, Positive Pete proposed: "they joined the illoominatee?". And Koww responded: "I hadn't originally connected the underwater restaurant to the other two projects which both deal with history, but maybe there's an overall thread of an architecture for amusement in snøhetta's work. There's nothing solemn in their projects. I'm not saying to make boring shit, but just be respectful."

NYT finally found their muse and accomplise, Snøhetta (seriously, what happened?), in their quest to justify shoddy architecrure coverage. Notice how many times they have written about, say, Julie Snow.
Makes you wonder about who is really selling the Trump porn...
If it does make it to building I highly doubt it will be anywhere near the ephemeral delicate nature of the matte painting renderings shown.
GOOD point
my quote above is taken out of context and this project actually looks pretty cool. i regret not trolling obviously enough. have a blessed day.
That's gorgeous.
The more I look at this, the more i like Snohetta's
How could anyone not like this project? Woodland animals, for God's sake, people!!! Woodland animals!!!
FLW had Fallingwater, Snøhetta has Falling Reputation
The power plants are by 'Stein Hamre Arkitektkontor AS' if anyone is interested.
Looks like something out of Wiscombe's office/studio. Never would have thought to camouflage structure with woodland critters.
Look! Up ahead! We're approaching The Wall of Terminal Weirdness!
