Amazon has set off a scrum among cities that are hoping to land the company’s second headquarters — with the winner getting the prize of a $5 billion investment and 50,000 new jobs over the next two decades.
(Denver's) lifestyle and affordability, coupled with the supply of tech talent from nearby universities, has already helped build a thriving start-up scene in Denver and Boulder, 40 minutes away.
— The New York Times
The New York Times suggests Denver for Amazon new headquarters as it offers a large and growing labour pool, access to universities, high quality of life and enough space to build eight million square feet of office space. If Amazon was to follow the New York Times advice it could drastically change the face of Denver in the next years.

Wow, the NYT map design is so revealing (about the NYT). Also, many cities are missing. Quality of life is such a bogus criteria... basically an excuse for editors to inject stereotypes to places they've never been. Denver is trendy choice (prob because they heard pot is legal), but still too far west.
Either they go east coast or super middle. My bets are KC, Pittsburgh, Connecticut or NYC metro area. NYT should stick to their strength, 24/7 Trump TMZ
Also, I don't think it would be good for the city that takes Amazon in... it might be good for the 40k workers, but it could suck the life out of the city's other industries
Why is quality of life a bogus criteria? Denver is not centrally located? Check your map. You think nobody has ever been to Denver, just "heard" about it? Pretty thoughtless.
The face of Denver is already changing drastically, according to many. For, see instance this, this or from the forum.
Also, this would be cool!
Would certainly build support for the argument that the "Denver-Boulder tech scene" is The Most Exciting and Innovative Tech Hub in the Country.
