This post is brought to you by IN(3D)USTRY.
The first edition of IN(3D)USTRY: From Needs to Solutions was held in 2016—an exclusive 3-day event that brought together the most advance additive manufacturing solutions in key sectors such as healthcare, automotive & aeronautics, retail and architecture.
More than 3000 visitors attended IN(3D)USTRY 2016, an event featuring more than 100 important speakers and more than 40 companies from 20 different countries. Companies such as HP or Renishaw exhibited new Additive manufacturing technologies that aim to revolutionize the industry by providing a faster and more economical solution with increased freedom of creation, compared to other traditional methods.
In the last edition, speakers from architecture studios and the world leading laaC (the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia) discussed how to change the way large structures are built and how these new approaches will open paradigm-changing scenarios full of opportunities and freedom of design, thus making our living environment more unique, sustainable, and energy efficient.
We had the opportunity to showcase for the first time Acciona's Large Scale 3D Printing project, developed in collaboration with laac and DShape, introducing a part of a wall 1,35m tall that was built using micro-concrete with additive manufacturing and computational design strategies. This technology allowed, at the beginning of this year, to present the first pedestrian 3d printed bridge in the world, inaugurated in the urban park of Castilla-La Mancha in Alcobendas, Madrid.
This year, we are very excited after the first successful edition, to take one step further by celebrating the second edition of IN(3D)USTRY: From Needs to Solutions inside the Barcelona Industry Week—an event that, for the first time, aims to bring together all the processes and solutions that make up the new industrial revolution. Specifically, there will be eight simultaneous events: Expoquimia, Eurosurfas, Equiplast, IN(3D)USTRY, the loT Solutions World Congress, the World Congress of Chemical Engineering, the World Chemical Summit, and the Smart Chemistry/Smart Future. Topics cover a myriad of industrial solutions including raw materials and chemicals, plastics processing and transformation, materials processing, surface technologies, data applications, and automation in an industrial environment (loT).
There were many needs and challenges presented in the first edition of IN(3D)USTRY: From Needs to Solutions, and many new solutions have been introduced since: materials innovation, new software design for the optimization of production processes, the application of automated additive manufacturing technologies for the production of parts. In short, new solutions that correspond to different stages of the industrial value chains that, for the first time, will share the same space in the Barcelona Industry Week.
IN(3D)USTRY: From Needs to Solutions 2017 will include new companies from different fields such as health, automotive, aeronautics or retail, but will also have participants from IN(3D)USTRY 2016, who will present their progress and their respective valuations of these last 16 months.
Have the challenges of IN(3D)USTRY 2016 been overcome? Has the implementation of 3D printing technology been standardized in the production line? Have materials in 3D printing stopped being a limitation for the development of complex projects? We will discover it in the round tables and the new conferences of IN(3D)USTRY: From Needs to Solutions 2017.
Finally, this year, IN(3D)USTRY:From Needs To Solutions, with the support of Fira de Barcelona and Leitat Technological Center, will drive the Hybrick Project — an accelerator of additive and advanced manufacturing projects that will help connect customer needs to industrial solutions of the market turning the challenges into business opportunities.
New innovative solutions, new manufacturing processes and new applications of Additive Manufacturing technology will take place at IN(3D)USTRY: From Needs To Solutions 2017.
We hope to see you from the 3rd to the 5th of October 2017 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via Venue.
