Design in the Age of Efficiency | June 27, recommended by Nicholas Korody

Back in 1922, Hugh Ferriss made a series of drawings that illustrated the effects of the 1916 Zoning Code, among the most stringent in the world at the time. Form follows policy, so to speak – even if architects dream of blank slates. This is just as true today and particularly after New York passed legislation that mandates some of the highest-efficiency buildings around. Do your due diligence and head over to West 18th Street to learn about the impact of these new laws.
Bespoke NY Summer Party | June 28, recommended by Paul Petrunia
Bespoke, an architecture recruitment outfit, will be hosting a summer party for the A+D community. Bespoke really knows how to throw a party, so swing by and say hello to Scott, Leslie, and the rest of the Bespoke NYC team.

Longing for a fresh and stunning view of the New York Harbor? Learn more about the project at Open House New York's presentation with the architects and planners at the Cooper Union.
Film screening: “The New World of Lina Bo Bardi” + “Precise Poetry” | June 30, recommended by Amelia Taylor-Hochberg
The life and work of Brazilian modernist architect Lina Bo Bardi is already a visual treat. Take a deep dive into her work with these two very different film treatments – the "New World" animated short takes a whimsical ride through her forms and graphics, and the documentary "Precise Poetry" conveys her influence through interviews with friends and colleagues.
